Our week at the Cabin

I can not tell you how bad I needed this week away; to spend time with family, not worrying about any activities, sleeping in, relaxing, enjoying the sun, reading, eating all we wanted... The list goes on & on. Every year my parents rent a cabin and invite all my siblings and kids to come & stay. This is now our 4th or 5th year and the kids (along with Jim & I) treasure this tradition... asking all summer long when we get to go to the cabin. The kids love to spend time with extended family, fishing, going out on the boat, tubing, jet skiing, roasting marshmallows by the bon-fire, etc... This year we also made home made ice cream and did some fun sparklers. I can't tell you how much I cherished the time away! It was hard when the week was over to pack up and know we were done now until next year:( But we have some great memories and some fun pictures to always hold dear.

Lauryn & I enjoying the jet ski:

One of the many times Jim & Zach tipped the jet ski. This was Zach's mission each time he went out!

Sean roasting marshmallows. Of course none of the kids want to eat them, it's just fun to roast

Beyonce Concert

Last night Lauryn & I saw another wonderful concert with Carol & Ceci. We had a great time going out to dinner first and then heading to the show. Ceci was so excited before hand, it was fun to see and hear her enthusiasm. Beyonce put on an amazing show and we loved it! And of course now today I am downloading some of her songs.

Here are Ceci & Lauryn while at dinner:
We had amazing seats and a great view. Beyonce is just beautiful!
If you would like to view a short clip of "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)"... (go down and pause my music playlist first so you can hear the music better)

LTF Triathlon

Jim finished his first international course triathlon today and I experienced my first team triathlon for the international course. Again, Jim went with the philosophy of under training:) And yet, he amazed me! He said he felt pretty good besides some biking issues and plans to do more of them in the future.

My team did great as well. Mike Schupanitz did our swimming, Jen Vettel did the biking, and I did the running. Together, we made a strong team and had a fun time experiencing the whole thing. One day I would love to do one on my own, but I'll need years of swimming practice first!

Here is Jim, just getting out of the water after a .9 mile swim:

Jim, finishing up his 24.8 mile bike ride and on to running 6.2 miles:

All smiles after a job well done: (Jim & I)

Jonas Brothers Concert

Last night the boys got to experience their first concert! Sharon and I took our boys; Steven, Zach, Ryan, and Sean to see the Jonas Brothers. Jordan Sparks opened for them, along with Honor Society. The boys had a great time... At one point they danced, another point they sat, another point they were tired & Sean fell asleep for a short minute. It ended up being a late night. But all the bands did a great job!

Jordan Sparks did an excellent job...
The Jonas Brothers... I now know them all by name... & who is who...The boys... Sean, Zach, Ryan, & Steven

4th of July Weekend

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. It started with landscaping... Wow, we got lots accomplished and the back yard is starting to look good! I can't wait until it is all complete. Then we invited friends over on the 4th and spent the day in the pool and BBQ'ed. We could not have asked for nicer weather. It was such a beautiful day and we had a great time. Later that night, a bunch of us went to the fireworks together. On Sunday, we went down to Minnehaha Falls and did some walking. It was a wonderful 4th! Enjoying the sun... Sean, Lauryn, & Zach
